The Lesbian & Gay Foundation (The LGF) provide a wide range of support services to lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans* people.

LGF Intake and
Triage Service

If you need some help but aren’t sure which service is best to use, our Intake and Triage Service provides information and support to help you get access to the services you need, as well as giving you the space to talk and receive some emotional support and guidance.

Are you a health professional looking to refer someone in to our services? Click here.

Our services and activities include: a range of support groups; face-to-face counselling; a helpline, email and pop-in service; a befriending scheme; a sexual health programme, (including outreach testing clinics and the largest free condom and lube scheme outside of London); anti-homophobia projects in schools; a substance-misuse project; organisational training; a range of guides and resources; a national website; advice surgeries; LGBT infrastructure support; various research projects and policy campaigning.

The promotion of equality has always been implicit in the work of The LGF. In recent years, we have developed a greater role in promoting awareness of the needs and experiences of LGBT people and in campaigning for equality. In 2015, we will be working towards becoming a fully trans* inclusive organisation and will be making adjustments to our services, as necessary.

Our support services are delivered by a team of dedicated staff and volunteers. So whether its relationships, coming out, family issues, knowing your legal rights reporting a hate crime or you just need someone to talk to get in touch and tell us how we can help.

Requests for documentation

We are sometimes asked to provide written confirmation of attendance at sessions and for reports on individual service users. We can only provide documentation or confirmation of attendance at sessions, once we have received a request directly from the individual. This is to protect the confidentiality of those who use our services. There are also limitations to what we can provide:

We can provide written confirmation of the dates you have attended appointments or sessions, within certain services where we keep a record of attendance

We can only provide each individual with a maximum of one letter per month

We are not qualified to produce psychological reports or reports of a similar nature

Whatever your needs, we are here to support you. If you cannot find the information you are looking for please get in touch with us - call 0845 3 30 30 30 or email
