Top Ten Tips

  1. Dress Down – do a dress down Friday event at work, school or home and ask people to come in ‘plain clothes’ or even fancy dress, for a £1/£2 donation

  2. Give it up - why not give up things like Friday night takeaway, your morning latte and donate the money instead.

  3. Sponsored... why not do a sponsored, walk, cycle, silence, fast and ask people to sponsor you in support

  4. Dinner Party – host a dinner party and ask your 5 friends to donate £20!

  5. Challenge Yourself – why not undertake a challenge like some of our supporters have including a zipslide, parachute jump and 100 mile cycle! Read more >>>

  6. Run for us! – The LGF have places in some of the biggest runsof 2013. If you have your own place, or need one of ours, get those running shoes on! Visit www.lgf.org.uk/run for more information

  7. Double your Money – why not ask your employer if they do a matched giving scheme – an easy way to double your money!

  8. Set up a personal webpage - Set up a personal webpage on www.justgiving.com/lgf - the money comes automatically to us and you will be able to see your total on your webpage. It also helps people donate simply online – or by text!

  9. Get publicity - Let your local paper and radio station know what you're up to, especially if your doing something likerunning in fancy dress or you have a great story to tell. We can help you with this too.

  10. What’s your idea? – A bake sale, quiz, a dinner party, sponsored shave or sponsored silence! Get creative and get raising money!

Put the “Fun” in Fundraising

Guide to FundraisingDownload!

Perfect for LGBT Staff Networks, LGBT Society’s and workplaces, download the LGF’s Guide to Fundraising for some great ideas on how to fundraise for The LGF while having lots of fun!!!

Fundraising can be a tad daunting, but if you have a firm idea of what you want to do and set yourself targets you really think you can achieve, then your event/s should be great fun and raise lots of money.

If you dig a little, you might discover that friends and family have secret skills! Maybe they can juggle, teach salsa dancing, paint Henna tattoos, sing a song backwards, line dance or even break dance.

Find out about their secret skills and auction off their talents or organise a talent show and charge an entry fee. If this isn’t enough, why not use your own skills to raise money – try organising a gift wrapping service or maybe offering a car washing or shoe cleaning service in your local area.

The ideas are endless... Just use your imagination!
