You might be thinking that being gay or lesbian and wanting to be a parent is something new – or maybe the idea is simply new to you?

Same sex parents have been out there for some time and in most cases managing fantastically well to bring up fantastic kids.

There has never been a law preventing lesbian, gay or bisexual individuals from adopting children, however there have been laws introduced recently to make it easier and now there are many other ways lesbian and gay people can have children.
