Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride - Sunday 13th July 2008

Take part in the North West’s Biggest Bike Ride. Ride in the 22nd annual Manchester to Blackpool bike ride

Ride Details

Start           Mancehster Town Hall, Albert Sq., Manchester

Finish          The Promenade, Blackpool

Distance      60 miles

Start Times  7.30am - 9.15am

Other Info   Minimum rider age 14. Riders under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult over 18 and wear a helmet

Transport - A coach service runs once in the morning from Blackpool to Manchester and at intervals during the afternoon to take riders back to Manchester,  it costs £19.00 for you and your bike.

London to Paris Bike Ride - 10th – 13th July 2008

Take part in the London to Paris cycling challenge, where you’ll cycle nearly 233miles (375kms) over 4 days!

Deposit*: £ 125 
Minimum Sponsorship*: £  1250 
Grade:  Moderate  
 
Your expedition will begin at Kingston University Halls of Residence, London where you’ll be put into a group of participants with similar fitness and speed. You will then head off to Portsmouth where dinner and accommodation is provided. The second day is an early start, to cross by ferry where you can relax, have breakfast, and catch up on your sleep before arriving mid-day in the village of to Ouistreham, just north of Caen, in France. Then head off into the French countryside passing tiny hamlets, bubbling brooks, farmhouses and fields. The day’s cycling ends in the town of Bernay, where you spend the night in a wonderful local hotel and eat in a nearby restaurant.

The third and last early morning is the 100 mile day, (gulp)! Passing fields of sunflowers, corn and tranquil little villages along the way, it’ll take you up and down hills to the Palace of Versailles, home of the French Monarchy. Here you can have a rest before embarking on the last leg of our journey that will take you all the way into Paris, to the Arc de Triomphe and your finish celebrations. That night you celebrate your 400kms ride with a Finish Dinner in a restaurant in Paris. (Accommodation in central Paris). The fourth day is a free day where you can make the most of all that Paris has to offer. Then it’s the Eurostar back to Waterloo.

ING New York Marathon - November 2009

Experience a fantastic race in the Big Apple. With more than 2 million spectators, in the place so good, they named it twice!

The New York Marathon goes through Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan – it’s almost a sight-seeing tour! With 30,000 other runners from around the world, the ING New York Marathon is second to none! Join the Lesbian and Gay Foundation team for the experience of a lifetime.

If you are interested in getting a place in the ING New York Marathon, you can provisionally reserve a place on the 2008 ING New York City Marathon, with 2:09events by putting down a £200 Travel deposit.

The travel details for 2008 will be on the website from mid-November and your advance travel deposit will be refundable, (less a £25 admin fee), up to January 1st should you decide not to take up a package and guaranteed entry place. After 1st January you will be committed to booking a travel package and the £200 travel deposit will become non-refundable and applied to your choice of travel package.

All ING New York City Marathon Travel Partner places are dependent on taking a travel package with an official Tour Operator – unfortunately we can not supply race entry only.
