Leave a gift in your will

Please remember The Lesbian and Gay Foundation in your will.

"School for me was a regular dose of teasing – the way I talked, walked, what I wore, my taste in music, who I hung out with… there was little they left untouched, and it took me years to get over that.  Within a month of coming out to my parents, I spent the night in A&E after being attacked outside a gay nightclub, and I’ve got the scars as a reminder.  Still now, I feel wary about being openly gay in certain places and situations.  It shouldn’t have to be this way."

Please don’t let another generation go through what we have!

90% of lesbian, gay and bisexual people will suffer homophobia during their lives.

The Lesbian and Gay Foundation directly helps over 40,000 people a year, providing counselling, support groups, information and resources, free condoms and lube, a regional magazine (outnorthwest), a national website, various research projects, and policy campaigning.

"I would just like to say a huge thank you to all at LGF for the services you provide – I cannot express how grateful I am – many thanks for the great team of people that constitutes LGF."
Michael, a service user

Legacies are a lifeline for thousands of charities, but we’ve never yet received a legacy.

If you’ve ever benefited from the work of the Lesbian and Gay Foundation, or want to make sure that other people in the future can, please consider making a legacy to us when you make or next update your will.

We have a lot more to achieve, because changing laws doesn’t necessarily mean changing hearts and minds.  Legacy gifts are vital to help fund our groundbreaking work for generations to come. Please join the Lesbian and Gay Foundation in putting an end to homophobia and help us create a world where we have the potential to be anybody we want to be.

You may be thinking about writing a will for the very first time, or you might be thinking of amending a will you already have.  Any solicitor you visit, should be able to explain how to insert a legacy (or bequest as they’re sometimes called) into your will, and will help you think through the different options.

You may need our basic details, which are as follows:

The Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF)
4th Floor, Princess House, 105-107 Princess Street, Manchester, M1 6DD

Our Registered Charity No. is 1070904

(Of course, if in years to come we may have moved, a solicitor would always be able to trace us through the charity commission, who have our registered charity number).

If you require any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us, particularly if you’d like to know more about the range of work we’re currently undertaking.  Similarly, if you need any suggestions of gay-friendly solicitors, then just let us know.  If you would like to know more information, please contact us or call 0161 235 8035 and ask to speak to Emma or Matt.
