Bar and club scheme
What is the LGF Bar and Club Partnership Scheme?
The Lesbian and Gay Foundation is the UK’s leading LGB Charity. A large part of our income relies on donations from individuals and money raised at events such as bar and club nights. Without this money our work such as the Free Condom and Lube Scheme, our Face to Face Counselling service and the Helpline wouldn’t be able to continue.
By becoming an ‘LGF Bar and Club Partner’ you will be supporting the work of the LGF directly in your area, and in return we will help to promote and publicise your venue and/or event. The Partnership scheme will run on an annual basis and you will be fully supported by everyone at the Lesbian and Gay Foundation along the way.
As an official ‘LGF Bar and Club Scheme Partner’, you will help us to continue to End Homophobia and Empower People through our services and resources. This invitation is open to a limited number of venues across the North West per year. To guarantee your venue’s association with the LGF you can help in a number of ways:
- Display LGF tins in your venue throughout the year
- Hold benefit events exclusively for LGF throughout the year
- Select LGF as your preferred charity of choice for the year
Benefits of the Bar and Club Partnership Scheme - what the LGF will do to support you
- Credit your venue on our website LGF online as an official ‘LGF Bar and Club Partner’ reaching over 7 million hits per year
- Provide you with a 2007/2008 official LGF Bar and Club Partner Plaque to display in your venue
- Promote your benefit nights on our website (including a link to your website) and on our monthly e-bulletin (approximately 10,000 recipients)
- Promote your benefit nights in our monthly northwest magazine ‘outnorthwest‘ reaching over 35,000 recipients
- Provide your bar staff with ‘Bar staff supporting LGF’ T shirts
- Supply you with LGF’s logo for you to use on any promotional material*
- Provide you with LGF volunteers to help at fundraisers and on larger benefit nights with collections, raffles, ticket selling or door sales
- Discounts for staff at your venue to LGF events, where applicable
- Where possible, assistance with press coverage
- Receive copies of our supporters newsletters
- Offer advice and support on themed nights, raffles and entertainment
Depends on a minimum annual fundraising donation from the venue to be determined by venue manager/owner and LGF Fundraising Manager.
* LGF must approve all print that includes the LGF’s logo and any reference to LGF before it goes to print
Thinking of joining the Scheme?
If you are interested in supporting the LGF’s future work within the Lesbian and Gay Community by signing up to our Bar and Club Scheme 2007/08, you can email Rachel Bottomley – Fundraising & Events Officer at the Lesbian and Gay Foundation. We will be happy to come and meet with you to answer any questions you may have about the partnership scheme and ways that we might work together in more detail.
This will be an opportunity for us to talk about the ways we can support you in your fundraising (for example providing volunteers, resources, event promotion, feedback etc) and celebrating your achievements.
It will also give us an opportunity to explore possible ideas for events for your bar/club and thus determine the minimum fundraising amount that your venue could potentially raise annually for the LGF.
Thank-you. You have the potential to end homophobia!
