Volunteer
The Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) started because people wanted to make a difference for themselves and the other people around them. They knew that things were wrong for lesbian, gay and bisexual people, and they wanted the chance to help put them right. Since the LGF was formed, we have remained predominantly a volunteer organisation, with over 150 volunteers and approximately 20 or so staff. Quite simply, we could not achieve the vast range of work we undertake without the commitment and dedication of our volunteers.
The Lesbian and Gay Foundation’s services are run as a ‘partnership’ between volunteers and staff. As a volunteer your gift of time, skills and experience will enable the LGF to further its mission to ‘End Homophobia and Empower People’, helping lesbian, gay and bisexual people to be all that they can. By doing so, it is the LGF’s aim that volunteers gain satisfaction from this partnership and that the relationship is one of mutual benefit.
The Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) will ensure volunteers feel secure in the knowledge that they are valued, working safely, managed effectively and performing a defined role for the lesbian, gay and bisexual people we serve.
