Volunteer role profile: Events and Fundraising
Main purpose of volunteer role
- To assist the Lesbian & Gay Foundation in delivering fundraising and non-fundraising events.
- To collect charitable contributions from the public either through open collections (buckets) or by taking a donation on the door at various events.
- To prepare appropriate materials, i.e. posters and banners, for events.
- To act as an ambassador for Lesbian & Gay Foundation whilst on duty.
- The majority of the Lesbian & Gay Foundation events program is delivered during evenings or at weekends.
- To assist in collection tin changes when required – day times only.
- To be available to help at Manchester Pride Big Weekend over the August Bank Holiday and World Aids Day Events in December.
Skills and abilities required
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience of fundraising or willingness to learn.
- Reliable and trustworthy.
- A commitment to equal opportunities and diversity.
- You should be flexible around your volunteering availability.
Training element
There is no specific training programme for these volunteer roles. Training will be given as and when required.
