Volunteer role profile: Health Trainer
Main responsibilities of volunteer role
- To deliver intervention work within Manchester’s LGB community
- To deliver LGF campaign training to Manchester Scene staff
- To promote LGF activities and campaigns in a variety of venues
- To host LGF sexual health clinics if appropriate
- To deliver therapeutic groupwork
Skills and abilities required
- Must have some knowledge, either professional or personal, around LGB health issues
- Must be able to work with people around difficult or awkward subjects
- Must be able to work in adherence with confidentiality requirements
- Must have experience of facilitating group sessions
- Must have good communication skills
- Must have good interaction skills
- Must have good listening skills
- Must have patience
- Must have a sense of humour
- Driving License (not essential)
- You should be flexible around your volunteering availability.

Hours of activity
- Variable, but will include late evening and weekend work
- Long hours may be required during key events such as Pride and World Aids Day
