Role: Social Support Co-ordinator
Salary: £22,220 – £24,341 per annum (plus 10% pension, subject to completion of a six month probation period)
Special Terms: 22.5 hours per week (we are currently seeking funding to make this post full time), 12 month fixed term contract
Accountable to: Wellbeing Manager
Accountable for: Volunteers
We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual, to co-ordinate and develop our Social Support Programme. You will utilise your skills and experience of supporting vulnerable people, to provide effective Befriending Services to LGB&T people in Greater Manchester.
This role has a particular focus on service development and working with others to support older LGB&T people, as some of the most isolated individuals in our society.
Your responsibilities will include:
- The day-to-day co-ordination of the Befriending Service.
- Working with the Wellbeing Manager to expand the Befriending Service and wider Social Support Programme, to include longer term, tailored support for older LGB&T people who are experiencing social isolation.
- Developing positive working relationships with other social care agencies and professionals, so that the needs of LGB&T people are being represented at relevant fora.
- Providing a level of experience and expertise capable of supporting some of our more vulnerable and complex service users, ensuring they receive safe and appropriate support.
