outnorthwest issue 112

Welcome to Issue 112 of outnorthwest. Two words you’ll read a lot in this issue are ‘coming out’. The process of coming out about our sexuality is something that never really ends. Over the course of your life you’ll come out to friends, family, work colleagues... the list is almost endless.

For some it’s easy, and for others it is extremely difficult. The important thing to remember is that there is a world of help available to you, if you’re struggling with coming out.

The LGF Helpline receives more calls about coming out than any other topic. If you’re looking for  advice or support give us a call anytime between 10am and 10pm on 0845 3 30 30 30.

We’re extremely proud to be a media sponsor of Homotopia again this year. This annual Liverpool-based queer arts festival has rightly become one of the most successful events of its type in the UK. There’s a huge amount going on this year, and we’ve selected just some of the highlights. Our star interview this issue is with Andrew Lancel (you might remember him from Coronation Street and Queer As Folk), who is starring as Brian Epstein in a brand new play about the Beatles’ managers life. Playing as part of Homotopia, this is a show not to be missed.

With all the usual health, wellbeing, community news, features, and listings I hope you enjoy this issue of ONW.

We’ll be back at the end of November with our annual World AIDS Day issue.

Thank you again for your continued support of outnorthwest and The Lesbian & Gay Foundation.
