Complentary therapies

The LGF’s Face 2 Face Counselling Service also offers a range of holistic and complementary therapies which have been proven to help emotional health and well-being. The alternative and complimentary approaches share a belief in the body’s ability to heal itself. Practitioners in this field believe our minds and emotions are embodied in our physical existence and using various complimentary treatments, can be both powerful and helpful. The LGF believes that complementary therapies should always be used in conjunction with traditional medical approaches and talking therapies.

The Face 2 Face Service offers the following:

Hypnotherapy

Uses states of deep relaxation, the therapist assists in uncovering and exploring past events, memories and emotions which may be effecting the individual’s mind

Reiki

A Japanese technique of laying hands on an individual to bring energy into the body for relaxation and well-being

Relaxation Classes and Techniques

Relaxation can help you to cope with stress more efficiently, making you feel calm. It can also help improve your self-esteem and self-confidence.

Body Massage

Lasts about 1 hour and will be adapted to your needs. This may be firm pressure to relieve tension in tight muscles or a lighter touch to soothe and relax. Oil is used on the skin and a treatment couch is usually used.

Indian Head Massage

An excellent stress buster; it calms the mind and relieves tense muscles. Your upper back, shoulders, neck, face and ears can be included. Sessions are short and you remain fully clothed.

Reflexology

The application of pressure to the pressure points on the ears, hands and feet to restore the flow of energy throughout the body.
