LGB Smoke Free

As of 1st July 2007, it became illegal to smoke in enclosed public spaces.

This ban includes offices, pubs, bars, shopping centres and just about anywhere else you can think of (apart from outdoors and private homes).

Nearly all regular smokers become addicted. LGB people are:

  • More likely to smoke in comparison with heterosexuals.
  • Less likely to access services which assist them to give up.
  • 70% of people who do smoke wish they didn’t.
  • An average smoker spends £1,500 per year on cigarettes.

The LGF recently produced a booklet 'LGB Smoke Free'.
This booklet considers some of the negative effects of smoking, looks at what happens when you stop, and provides some practical suggestions for support and advice.

For further info about the LGB stop smoking group, which is completely free to attend and can give you free patches and great support, email: stopsmoking@lgf.org.uk
