Join the LGB Community Leaders Roadshow 2013/14!
Publish Date: 03/12/2013
The Lesbian & Gay Foundation (The LGF) is going on the road across Greater Manchester to find out what issues LGB (lesbian, gay and bisexual) people want to have raised at a local level within health and social care and also to encourage volunteers to have their voice heard where they live.
The LGF has been funded by The Department of Health to empower and support at least 40 LGB Community Leaders across Greater Manchester to work on behalf of our community to help to ensure that health and social care services are designed and commissioned around the real needs of LGB people.
This is a fantastic opportunity for lesbian, gay and bisexual people from all parts of Greater Manchester to make sure an authentic LGB voice is heard to ensure that service providers have the information they need to better cater for the needs of LGB people.
The events (listed below) are happening from December 2013 until March 2014 so come along and contribute. The LGF will be discussing the following areas:
• What are the issues that affect us as LGB people?
• What can you do to support other LGB people?
• How can we encourage NHS organisations to better reflect real people’s needs and experiences to encourage better service provision?
