Help shape the future of LGBT housing
Publish Date: 24/05/2012
In an increasingly ageing population, no provision or research exists as to the housing wants and needs of older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual (LGB&T) people.
Stonewall Housing, with the support of Comic Relief, are addressing this silence through a project designed to empower the ageing LGB&T population to:
Share their experiences of housing, care and support services
Access advice and support about issues of loneliness, abuse or harassment
Confront developers and commissioners with their preferences
Enhance their own skills and knowledge through involvement in innovative projects
‘Get your voice heard’
Working in partnership with The Lesbian & Gay Foundation, Stonewall Housing would
like to invite local housing providers and LGB&T people over the age of 50, to an event
focussed around older LGB&T housing in Greater Manchester. Here you will learn more
about this innovative project and be invited to share your experiences and perspectives
on this important subject.
- When: 26th June 2012, 10am-2pm
- Where: The Lesbian & Gay Foundation, Number 5, Richmond Street, Manchester, M1 3HF
Lunch will be provided at 1pm following a morning presentation and group discussion.
