Homo Heroes Awards: Volunteer of the Year

We have 21 people nominated across 7 categories and the choice of who wins the Homo Heroes Awards is up to you! Here we feature the nominations for the Volunteer of the Year Category:

·         Robert Mee - Robert has donated his life for 6 years to expand the LGBT Out in the Bay charity in Lancashire. He has put his own money into building the charity and has helped so many people through their struggles of coming out and the ongoing support that is needed.

·         Gwyn Starkey - Gwyn has been an active volunteer for LGB&T groups and organisations for almost 19 years. He is currently the Chair of Icebreakers and works to support and steer this long-standing group through difficult times.

·         Martine Whitaker - Martine volunteers for 17-24-30 and helps to organise the April Acts of Remembrance and the October Vigil against Hate Crime. Martine commits her own time in order to support equality and also volunteers to support London Pride.
