Ann Dunn, Office Manager at Northenden Group Practice said “The whole practice was really proud of our award. There was a real sense of celebration when we were presented with our plaque and flowers too! We hope that our LGB patients will feel more confident to talk to us about their sexual orientation if they want to. We want every patient to feel comfortable at our surgery.”
Kathy McGuirk, the project manager for Pride and Practice commented "Northenden Group Practice was quick to book in a meeting and begin working with the service. During the training session with the front desk staff I was asked some excellent questions that really showed that the staff were eager to deepen their understanding of LGB health issues.
The nurse who completed the assessment with me was very knowledgeable and keen to deliver a top quality service to all patients, including her LGB patients. By the nurse, and the practice finding out more about the services and support The Lesbian & Gay Foundation provide they can now offer to refer their LGB patients into a wider range of services to meet their needs. I’m delighted to have been able to award the practice their well-deserved award!”
