The LGF DOUBLES fundraising efforts for Christmas
Publish Date: 02/12/2013
During December, every donation received by The Lesbian & Gay Foundation (The LGF) through The Big Give Christmas dashboard will be doubled!
The Big Give Christmas Challenge officially opens from 10am on Saturday 7 December and is a worthwhile opportunity to maximise funding support.
This amazing fundraising initiative means The LGF can help raise valuable unrestricted funding that can be used to develop the services offered to LGB people in crisis.
The aim of the project this year is to help prevent suicide attempts by LGB people suffering from depression and mental health problems.
During the Christmas period, it’s easy for those spending time with family and loved ones to forget that not everyone has the same kind of support available to them.
The LGF's counselling, helpline and befriending services helps to save lives as they are aware of how lonely people can feel, especially at Christmas time.
They are determined to keep their promise to be there for any LGB people who need their help so staff continually work over the Christmas period to ensure that phone lines are open to anyone who feels the need to talk.
The Big Give Christmas dashboard gives supporters a quick and easy way to donate and even ensures that gift aid details are captured to make donations worth even more. For example, a £10 donation through this scheme is worth an amazing £22.50, including gift aid.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge opens at 10am on Saturday 7 December until 5pm on Wednesday 18 December. To make a donation, please visit: http://bit.ly/1genWH6
Every year, The Big Give runs a matched funding event called the Christmas Challenge where donations are matched so support to your favourite charities go even further. Their previous five challenges have already raised over £40million for charities working all around the world.
The LGF’s new donor scheme is launching soon where members will be able to receive amazing offers as a thank you for their support. During December, everyone who joins the scheme will receive a VIP Canal Street Card, which gives food and drink discounts around Manchester.
