Due to unforseen circumstances (ie: Billie Rox has shut down!) Gay City Rollers 2 has had to change both date and venue.
It will now be held one day later on Thursday 15 May at the city's Ritz nightclub on Whitworth St West.
Themed in an eighties style, the disco with the theme of ‘Back to the Future’ offers you another fantastic attitude-free alternative roller disco night.
The event offers attendees the opportunity to enjoy a night of eighties classics, fun and games and make new friends while raising funds for the Lesbian and Gay Foundation (LGF) - the North West's leading community based charity, working to end homophobia and empower people.
Organiser Rachel Bottomley says: "Our first Gay City Rollers event was a massive success with more than 400 people attending and over £1,600 being raised for LGF work.
Emma Peate, LGF’s Fundraising Manager added: “Last time we had bears on skates, dykes on wheels, muscle mary’s on blades and nuns on the run! It was great to see a real community spirit coming together for a good cause and a good night out”.
Tickets for the event are £3 in advance or £4 on the door. There will be an additional £3 inside the venue for skate hire or £5 for blade hire.
All of the money raised from ticket sales will go directly back into LGF services. So not only is it a great night, it is for a great cause too! People of all ages, sexual preferences and skating abilities are invited to take part.
Tickets are now on sale from Clone Zone Manchester on Sackville Street and the Village Off Licence on Bloom Street. You can also contact Rachel - rachel@lgf.org.uk at the LGF to buy tickets or get further information about the event.
NB. Current ticket holders can get a complete refund from the LGF if they are unable to make the new date. Our sincere apologies.
