A Service of LGBT Inclusion
Published: 11/06/08
Join us at Manchester Cathedral on 12th June from 7.30pm
The Lesbian and Gay Foundation would like to invite support for the forthcoming event at Manchester Cathedral which is aimed at welcoming lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people on Thursday 12th June 2008.
The event is the result of excellent partnership working with The Bishop of Manchester, The Rt Rev Nigel McCulloch and his Advisory Group on Sexuality in offering much needed support to our communities over the last five years.
There is much concern within our communities that with the constant presence of negative media headlines, ordinary people with general pastoral needs relating to sexuality will be forgotten.
There is evidence of homophobia in all faiths and an event such as this sends out a very positive message of an inclusive church that is welcoming and open to all.
The Bishop of Manchester himself has promised the church and the gay community that he will do his utmost to keep the dialogue open, to listen and to understand.
We believe that this event is a fantastic way in which we can advance our work together for the benefit of all in our communities to promote tolerance, understanding and break down the barriers which prevent lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people from being fully welcomed by the Anglican Church.
