New Liverpool LGB&T network launches
Published: 07/06/08
Launching today, Liverpool’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Network aims to bring together LGB&T individuals and organisations working with LGB&T people to provide a collective voice for the community in Liverpool.
The Network’s aims include:
Speaking for Ourselves: making sure the voices of the LGB&T communities are heard, working in partnership with local decision makers.
Supporting Ourselves: providing accurate, up-to-date advice and information about LGB&T services, news and events.
Being Ourselves: helping the LGB&T communities become more inclusive, more diverse, more visible – and proud.
The network, which has the full backing of Liverpool Charity & Voluntary Services, will be completely democratic. You will be able to have your say about the things that matter to you and decide policy at our 'Open Meetings'.
Liverpool’s LGB&T Network will have a Chair and a Steering Group, selected by you, the members. You can also put yourself forward to be the Chair or a member of the Steering Group.
Why join the Network?
1. It is free to join
2. You can network with other LGB&T people
3. You can get involved in local decision making
4. You will be kept up-to-date with what’s happening locally
