The Manchester Gay Skinheads weekend is back for its 4th Year
Booking is still open for Manchester’s Gay Skinhead Weekend, which is now in its fourth year and is now established among other similar events across Europe. Manchester Skins have helped the event grow bigger each year and for 2008 the weekend will take place 27-29 June at venues across Manchester’s gay village.
You might think that skinheads don’t always have the best reputation but Manchester’s Gay Skinhead Group who organise the event are e a non racist non political group and are keen to point out that the event is all about having fun a d meeting friends old and new.
The group has teamed up with the likes of H20 Sauna, RoB and Bleachers & Co along with venues such as Taurus, Legends and Club Alert to host a series of special events.
Last year the weekend raised more than £500 for the skins chosen charity, the Lesbian and Gay Foundation and it is hoped that this year they will raise even more. In return the charity has produced a special guide for the weekend full of information on where to go, what to do and useful ‘survival’information.
Organisers are currently looking for volunteers to help fundraise and also to run a Charity Boot Shine event.
The weekend kicks off on Friday 27th June with a welcome event and registration at Taurus on Canal Street. Then it’s off to Manchester’s biggest fetish night Alert at Legends Club.
Anyone not wanting to wear the same outfit on Saturday has an opportunity to go to Manchester’s RoB shop with discounts available to all guys registered for the weekend. Dinner at Taurus (booking essential) is followed by a strictly skins only event at Legends, this time the MineShaft with that all-important charity boot shine.
On Sunday the refreshments and entertainment are supplied by The Outpost for skins and scallies indulging (amongst other things) in arm wrestling and pool competitions.
The Basic Cost of the whole weekend is £9.50, which allows entry into the main club nights
