Body Worlds ManchesterThere really isn’t another exhibition in the world like it! It’s one thing seeing a real dead body on television but to be in a room up close and personal with them is a truly surreal experience.

Plus these aren’t your average dead bodies. Oh no, most of them have been skinned, some have had their organs or bones removed and others aren’t even in one piece anymore.

The exhibition named Body Worlds 4, which comes with a sporting theme, is not for the faint-hearted! If you can’t stand the sight of blood, or don’t like watching Casualty then you probably won’t like this.

As disgusting as it sounds, seeing a body sliced up into 20 pieces isn’t really that bad. The exhibition is way more educating and interesting than any school biology textbook and it’s guaranteed to make you squirm.

Gunther von Hagens is the brains behind it all after he invented something called Plastination in 1977. Through this method he has managed to preserve thousands of bodies together with hundreds of animals too.

His latest exhibition includes a jumper doing the splits, a guitar player, a gorilla, and the famous ‘Poker Playing Trio’ featured in the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale.

To win a pair of tickets for the exhibition together with a Body Worlds Brochure and DVD just email jeni@lgf.org.uk (Winners will be picked out randomly. Closing date 31 May)
