International swimming tournament

Pride Games and the Northern Wave Swimming Club have organised an International Swimming Tournament to take place at Manchester Aquatics Centre on 18th August.

This event, which is a Masters equivalent tournament and is being officiated by the Amateur Swimming Association, has a number of open places for all interested swimmers. There are no qualifying criteria and the event is open to everyone.

This is the perfect chance for swimmers to practice and chase personal best times under full race conditions in one of the best long course (50 metre) swimming pools in the world. The standard of swimmer at the event is varied from relative beginner through to National Level Masters Swimmers, so there is something for everyone.

As you would expect from Manchester’s gay community, the event will have a fairly relaxed, friendly and fun feeling with the swimming pool appropriately decorated, lively music, lunch time entertainment and colourful fun races at the end of the day. The registration fee for the event is £30, which includes lunch and participants can swim in up to five events on the day.
