I’m Never Giving Up – Sweet Dreams (featuring Carrie Grant) 1983

Carrie GrantCarrie Grant  is probably best known for being a celebrity vocal coach and session singer and for her work on TV  programmes such as Fame Academy and the recent One and Only together with her husband David Grant.

In 1983 Carrie was a member of the singing trio Sweet Dreams, who entered the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "I'm Never Giving Up," which reached number 21 on the UK  singles chart and gave them sixth placing in the contest.

What is Carrie’s outstanding memory of taking part in Eurovision?

“The Eurovision theme tune. Even when I hear it now it makes me nervous. I loved every minute of the experience though.”

What do you think the UK  can do to stand a real chance of winning the competition again?

“I'm not sure  what my ideas would be but perhaps something that really expresses British culture, maybe with a celtic feel and a song that is so good it would be a classic whether it was in eurovision or not.”

“I don't think we've had either for a while.”
