Interview with 4 Poofs and a Piano
Catch the boys on the MainStage on Sunday 26th.
So, guys, you must be excited about performing at Manchester Pride?
Can’t wait. We always receive such a warm welcome in Manchester (although we’re still waiting for some lovely young men to make that welcome a little more physical).
What are your favourite memories of last year's event?
Walking on stage to a group of people who were saying ‘come on let’s have some fun’ rather than ‘go on then, entertain us’. The vigil was also very special. It was incredibly moving and I’ll never forget watching Rowetta sing the hell out of ‘Somewhere’. She put so much emotion into it.
What do you think makes Manchester Pride different from other LGBT festivals?
It doesn’t feel like everyone’s trying to rip you off. Some of the other festivals seem to be just an excuse to put the prices of everything up by 200%.
Any advice for someone coming to Manchester Pride for the first time?
Wear sensible shoes. You’ll be on your feet most of the time and if you’re not used to wearing heels, don’t make this your first time.
