Event Full Details: Hate crime is a prevalent issue within the lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) community, yet a significant number of cases continue to go unreported. This is reflected in the low number of reporting within Manchester; from statistics released by Greater Manchester Police, 2011 saw just 194 reports were made, a 6% decrease on the previous year. The Lesbian & Gay Foundation’s (LGF) Community Resource Centre is a third party reporting centre for homophobic hate crime. We also offer support and advice to people affected by the issue.The event will be held at our Community Resource Centre, Number 5 Richmond Street, Manchester will include
· What is homophobic hate crime is and how to report it.
· Information on what support is available to victims of hate crime, including information from relevant support organisations such as Victim Support.
· A questions and answer session
· Light lunch and refreshments will be provided
