Can you help make schools safer?

Stonewall’s 2012 School Report published last week showed worrying statistics that over half (55%) of lesbian, gay and bisexual pupils have experienced direct bullying and that shockingly 99% of gay young people hear the phrases ‘that’s so gay’ or ‘you’re so gay’ in school.

The Lesbian & Gay Foundation is committed to tackling homophobic bullying in schools. Through the multi-agency partnership initiative ‘Exceeding Expectations’ we aim to support schools in tackling this bullying by challenging perceptions through the medium of theatre.

In addition we have developed Safer Schools Packs, aimed at teachers addressing homophobia bullying in the classroom through a range of innovative lesson plans and resources.

We have distributed over 774 schools packs around the UK so far and we need your help in reaching more people. Packs are just £20 each and you can specify the school, college or youth group it goes to. Why not ask your company if they will match your donation?
